Healthy Turkey Burgers with Yogurt-Feta Sauce
These healthy turkey burgers are a hit with everyone. We love using the leftover sauce along side planked salmon or over grilled chicken.
PREP TIME: 15 minutes
COOK TIME: 12 minutes
YIELDS: 6 servings
Burgers:
2 pounds ground, extra-lean turkey
1 tablespoon Fire & Flavor Chicken Rub
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon kosher salt
Sliced tomato and fresh arugula leaves
Thinly sliced red onion
6 whole-wheat or pretzel buns
Sauce:
1 cup non-fat Greek yogurt
2/3 cup crumbled feta
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
FIRST Place ground turkey in a large bowl. Using hands, gently fold seasoning, olive oil, and salt into turkey. Season with freshly ground black pepper and form into 6 patties.
NEXT Preheat grill to medium-high heat. While grill is heating, prepare sauce by combining sauce ingredients in a medium bowl and seasoning with freshly ground black pepper; set aside or refrigerate until ready to use.
LAST Grill burgers for 6 minutes per side or until lightly charred and a meat thermometer registers 165°F. Lightly toast buns on grill and serve burgers with your favorite toppings and feta sauce.
